How We’re Serving Our Community

We’ve always been a business that tries to see things a little differently — after all, it’s this unconventional way of thinking that led us to offer fashion-forward designer frames at set, affordable prices. But one thing we see the same as anyone else is that COVID-19 is a serious concern that requires a measured response from our team to make sure that we can provide for the health of our customers, our staff, and our community during this difficult time.

We’ve spent the last few weeks establishing ways to keep our customers and staff safe in a healthy, hygienic environment, following both North Carolina’s guidelines on sanitation and social distancing, and our own strict standards. Eyes on Trade is open for business, for all normal hours! And we have implemented some new policies that allow us to provide our high-quality eye care services in a safe way.

How We’re Keeping You Safe

We’ve always prioritized a sterile and hygienic workplace. Our new policies take it a step further to keep everyone in our offices safe, and to ensure our same level of care within new safety guidelines. New policies include:

  • Our services are by appointment only. Whether you’re coming in for an eye exam or to shop for glasses, we’re only allowing one client in the store at a time. This allows us to socially distance and dedicate our time and attention entirely to your needs. (If you are under 18 or require physical assistance, you may bring someone with you.)
  • All regular services are available, implementing health and social distancing policies. These include eye exams, glasses repairs or fittings, and optician-assisted shopping.
  • We offer curbside pickup. You’re still welcome to pick up your goods in-office, but we’re happy to help you get what you need using whichever method makes you most comfortable.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

At Eyes on Trade, we’re committed to providing a thorough eye exam and a unique eyewear shopping experience to anyone who comes through our doors. To ensure that we can provide a safe place for everyone while they’re here, we ask that you make an appointment for your next visit and wear a mask while in our store. We have disposable masks available for our patients, but we welcome you to bring your own, both to save on our supplies and because many patients prefer their personal masks!

We’ll greet you at the door to get you checked in, where you can expect to have your temperature taken with a contact-free thermometer.

We’ll also go through any paperwork you have remaining at this time, but you’re encouraged to complete it online beforehand. If you are under 18 or require physical assistance, and have brought someone to help you, they will also need to comply with all our health and safety policies.

After that, we’ll guide you to your next stop, whether that’s in our optical section to work with our opticians, or to your exam room. If you’re shopping with us, a dedicated optician will guide you through every step of the selection process, hand-picking frames for you to try on, helping you narrow down your choices, and taking final measurements to get your outstanding new glasses just right.

Our new policies are here to keep you safe, but also to make you feel comfortable. We’re working hard to provide the same, personal eye care we always have without significant interruption. We can’t accept any patient with a fever or with other COVID-19 symptoms, but we’re happy to reschedule for a time when you’re feeling better.
